User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 My cache-folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox etc are renamed/moved and then recreated on a regular basis. Since I use Mac OS X's colour markings for excluding files and folders from being backed up the recreation of a folder (without a colour marking) makes me backup unnecessary files. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: A new cache-folder is created with the old folder called Cache.Trash Expected Results: Leave the cache-folder "as is", or even better, store its cache in herefore dedicated directory in ~/Library/Caches. There is no need for profiles in Mac OS X, remove them. The combinatione of not using the recommended directory for caches, using profiles (which is unnecessary) and unasked renaming/recreating directories makes this, IMO, a major bug.

This has already been addressed on the trunk (i.e. what will become Firefox 1.1) in bug 291033. The caches have been moved to ~/Library/Caches. I think we still mess around with Cache and Cache.trash in there, but I'm taking it that won't be a problem because your backup routine presumably ignores ~/Library/Caches. Marking as WFM.
