User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Problem started with My inbox taking a long time to display messages. It would keep doubling the message counts. It would also fail to display a message sometimes. When it did display, most of the time, I couldn't delete, reply, forward a message etc. If I went to another folder then back, sometimes that would allow me to delete a message, but not always. This occured after upgrading to the latest version, and seemed to be a problem with only the inbox. I created a new account and copied all the files over there. I set the new account to be the default. Then I removed the old problem account. Everything looked fine, and then Thunderbird errored out and when I restarted, the old account was gone, the new account was gone, and Thunderbird errors out end exits after sitting there for a couple of minutes. How do I get my old account info back and restore functioning? I am not sure if it was the new version or something else is the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 1.02 2. Not really sure how to cause the problem in the first place. 3. I don't know how to better define the problem. The more I try to work around it, the worse it gets. If I could get some help to get back to normal, I could maybe reproduce.

I noticed that my inbox was about 984 Megs big, as I didn't know I needed to compress it. I tried compressing it, but it never did it. I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, to no avail. I moved the inbox to a different name, thunderbird recreated my inbox, and then eventually, I was able to move the existing emails from my old inbox to the new inbox, and then deleted the large folder. That did the trick. I have recreated all the accounts (although I am having trouble with the passwd on one ;-) and managed to get my address book found and recognized. I guess the root cause of all the problems was a very large inbox. In Outlook express, I believe there is an option to automatically compress a folder when it is wasting a certain percentage of space. Does such a thing exist in T-bird? Thanks.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
