Only runing in safe mode can resolve that problem. Sounds like you have a bad extension in your profile to me. :-) Tried going through them and finding the one that's broken?

close all firefox windows go to windows start menu -> Firefox ->safemode and see if that works, if it does, remove your extensions, or at least the bad one
