see mozilla/xpfe/appshell/public/nsIUserInfo.idl mozilla/xpfe/appshell/src/nsUserInfo.h the unix implementation is here: mozilla/xpfe/appshell/src/nsUserInfoUnix.cpp I'll be adding to the idl file over time, but right now, only GetFullname is part of the interface to fix bug #26290 (which is unix only). for now, the other consumer of nsIUserInfo will be the new mail account wizard. see http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29593

I added a couple more attributes to nsIUserInfo, domain, username, emailAddress
targeting m16. If you reported this bug, and you would like to have it fixed sooner, please send me email. I will see what I can do. :-)
since this is not beta1 and I am quickly becoming most doomed for beta2, I need to punt on this. trudelle, do you have anyone that can take this?
trudelle / dougt: worse comes to worse, I can take this. I'm sure I can find the library calls on the micrsoft developer website. feel free to give this bug to me.
No, we are cutting things. reassigning to sspitzer
moving to m17. not a beta1 feature. accepting.
Seth, if no one steps up to the plate, assign it my way.
re-assigning to dougt. thanks for helping out dougt. I took a look a while back at the api's, and while win 2000 has great api's for this, win 95 & nt 4.0 didn't. hopefully you can find a way to solve this for all win32 platforms that we support.
yeah, you basically can get the windows login name. I am not sure what you want to do. I don't think that there is a "internet config" type application that we can tap into. back to you.
did netscape navigator 4.x, do anything like this?
no, 4.x didn't. not going to happen for 6.0 maybe for 6.1, we'll use the win2k apis to do this. moving to future.
I see a lot of talka bout Netscape 6.0 & 6.1 Is this a Netscape specific bug maybe?
