User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Mnenhy/0.7.2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Mnenhy/0.7.2.0 On some web pages, when I try to find text using the Find dialog box (Ctrl-F or Edit->Find In This Page), I get no feedback when the text is not found. By "no feedback", I mean that the status bar stays blank. In fact, the Find dialog box itself doesn't go away. It just sits there while I keep clicking on the "Find" button. I have to manually dismiss that dialog box. If I press Ctrl-G, absolutely nothing happens. The interesting this is that this problem SOMETIMES goes away if I use the find-as-you-type feature. If I use find-as-you-type, and then press Ctrl-F to bring up a dialog box, then sometimes it works works as normal. However, the problem always comes back if I reload the page. The URL above is just one page that has this problem. I'll post other pages with this problem as I continue to find them. I've been experiencing this problem for a long time, but I'm only now making the effort to report it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure "Find As You Type" (Advanced -> Keyboard Navigation) is enabled, and "Any text in the page" is selected. I also have "Clear the current search after a few seconds of inactivity" checkmarked. 2. Display the page above 3. Press Ctrl-F to bring up the Find dialog box 4. Type in some random text, like "askdjsdfkgsadfkjsfgjk" 5. Press Enter. You'll see that nothing happens. The Find dialog box is still there and the status bar is blank. 6. Click on the Find button. You'll see the button itself responds to the click, but the dialog box stays and nothing else happens. 7. Dismiss the Find dialog box by clicking on "Cancel" on pressing the Escape button.
WFM with Mozilla 1.8b1 and Mozilla 1.8b2/20050529, I get an alert with 'The text you entered was not found.'.
I downloaded the latest nightly and it works for me too. I guess this bug has already been fixed.
