Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl-NL; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl-NL; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Thunderbird 1.0.2. Just after having shut down Thunderbird (and Firefox), the computer had an unplanned shutdown (thus it did not follow the normal shutdown-routine but went without power instantly). After starting up the computer and Thunderbird, all folders and messages appear to have disappaered. Although the original systemfolders with the messages can be found via windows explorer, T-bird can not be convinced to open those folders and reload the messages; nor restore accountsettings and other stuff. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have some action with Tbird of Firefox (sending/receiving mail; install extension in Firefox and browse the web a bit); close it down (though this is not neccessary, I think) 2. Soon afterwards, let the PC make a sudden unplanned shutdown (just cut the power while in full motion) 3. Restart and find that the mail, folders and settings for Tbird and the settings voor Firefox have disappaered. Actual Results: Tbird asked me to define an emailaccount Expected Results: It should have kept track of my messages and settings, saving them on every instant that the program is active
Your emails are intact, only the pref files are gone. See http://www.mozilla.org/start/1.5/troubleshooting/#restore-mail and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disappearing_mail#prefs.js_corruption for how to recover your settings (same thing for TB) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 193749 ***
