User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050226 Firefox/1.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050226 Firefox/1.0.1 Here's an ideas that I don't think I've mentioned earlier, and I was reminded of when someone started adding notes to bug 217212: I think it would be nice if the handling of a given MIME type wasn't restricted to "internal' *or* application/plugin display, but you also had an option that was a cross between these two - i.e. internal display with the help of an application. In other words, I would like to be able to specify a "converter" or "filter" for MIME types instead of a "handler". A converter would (obviously) be something that could convert a file selected for display, generally of a format not supported directly by Firefox, to one of the formats that can be displayed inline - typically HTML. When encountering a file of a type linked to a "converter" rather than a "handler", Firefox would execute the command much like it will for a "handler", but also read its standard output and display it in the browser window. This functionality might also be extended to special protocols, thus resolving the issue described in bug 217212. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
