Greetings -- the Debian project requires each binary to have a man page viewable
with "man <binary>" -- I don't believe mozilla has a man page yet. So, I thought
I would offer to write a man page that netscape could distribute, and save the
Debian project the trouble of supplying a useless manpage.

So, I figured I would check with someone to see if a manpage was in the works,
authored but not part of the Debian stuff yet, etc. (I have heard POD is very
easy to use, easier than nroff any ways. Would POD work well for the mozilla
project?)

Thanks! Having a man page would be very nice. Since mozilla is built on a wide
variety of Unix platforms the man page would be most useful if it were usable
on all unixes. I'm not sure what POD is. Does it produce produce nroff output
usable on various old fashioned unixes?
POD is Perl's Plain Old Documentation markup language -- from there, it can be
converted to other formats using the 'pod2man' program, 'pod2html', or
'pod2text'. Rumor has it that POD is about as easy to use as html, and the nroff
that it can output shouldn't be too bad, even for the most ancient unices. (The
pod2man manpage says it outputs nroff using the man(7) macro set. I hope that is
fairly standard from unix to unix. :)

I haven't used POD myself, but I have seen it before, and I have seen nroff
before, and I know I would rather use POD. :)

Accepting for now. We're trying to kickstart the doc project, and we anticipate 
we'll have a list of assignments posted soon. We'll list sarnold@willamette.edu 
as the owner of the man page. I'll close out the bug when we post the list.
