I'd like to see the ability to perform a message filter based on the age of an
email. I have to keep several of my IMAP and local folders content for several
years whilst others I only need to keep for 7 days or a month.

Reproducible: Always

By having the message filters perform an action based on the age of an email
via on its Date header I could set up a action to delete an old email or move
it to a archive folder.

At present I can only set a message filter based on a fixed date which is set
when I make the filter.
So I can't, for example, move old emails into an archive folder based on them
being say 365 days old.

Just having a filter do an action before or after a date is a little too
limiting.
Other email clients I've used like Gemini on the Windows platform or
MessengerPro or Pluto on the RISC OS platform allow filtering based on age.

It's a great feature to have for though of us who *have* to keep at least some
of their email for business use for up to 3 years!
It also saves having to go back into a folder to delete old email which could
simply be automatically deleted or archived.
in trunk builds, you can already filter on "Age in Days" which is age relative
to today.
