Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

Confirming on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050807 Mozilla Sunbird/0.2+ I'm not sure if it's supposed to show the events in the selected month instead of the current month.

IMO "Events in this calendar month" should display events in selected month...

Whiteboard: [qa discussion needed]
The current text in the calendar unifinder drop down is: "Events In This Calendar Month". "This Calendar Month" has a connotation of referring to the current month that "today" is in. For example, if today is January 21, then "this calendar month" can only be January, regardless of what month is selected in the viewer. That said, I can understand your confusion. I think that the way out of this is to provide a new search on the drop down: "Events in Selected Month". This would operate the way that you envision. Therefore, I've changed the bug to an enhancement and confirmed it. I've also changed the summary. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Calendar 2. Browse to a future month that contains some events 3. Select the new item "Events in Selected Month" 4. Highlight all events in the currently selected month view.

This is the behaviour of the unifinder in sunbird (and a future unifinder in TB/Lightning if this is incorprated like Sven suggested in bug 372829 and bug 372830) I think. If in month-view you select a certain month and press ctrl-A all events in this month are selected.
