Adobe Reader plugin steals keyboard shortcuts

Details
If I click a link to a PDF file, the PDF file is rendered inside a Firefox window thanks to the Adobe Reader plugin. If I press a common Firefox shortcut such as Ctrl-T while in such a window, nothing happens. If I then click on a different tab (even one containing an HTML page), Ctrl-T still does not work. To open a new tab, I have to click back in the document part of the plugin window then click back on a different tab and press Ctrl-T. This bug is present in Deer Park Alpha 1, but it has been a long-standing issue with previous versions of Firefox and the Adobe Reader plugin.
