User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050523 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050523 Firefox/1.0+ Each time Sanitize Firefox is used the same options are selected (instead of being user-specific). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Tools/Sanitize Firefox (Deer Park/whatever) 2. Browsing History, Saved Form Information, Download History and Cache are selected 3. Deselect Saved Form Information and Download History 4. Click Sanitize Now (the selected items will be removed) 4. use Tools/Sanitize Firefox again Actual Results: The items that where deselected are now selected again (not very user friendly) Expected Results: As a user I would expect that the items that were selected during the previous session will be selected now. However, Firefox seems to do the same random selection each time. That's no problem for demonstrating the feature, but I guess it would be nice when Firefox 1.1 is released it will remember the user's selection (as the X-extension does it, if I remember correctly).
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-ZA; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050603 Firefox/1.0 To change your settings permanently go tools - options - privacy - sanitize options. I tested it this way and it did remember the settings. IMHO this is good enough although I suppose a "remember these settings" options under tools - Sanitize Deer Park would be nice.
Andrew, Thank you for these comments. I did not know that it was meant to work in that way. I do not expect there will be a user who expects to find it there either, so I hope setting these options will also be integrated in the dialog in the Tools menu. Remembering the last used settings by default would be nice. Otherwise the "Sanitize Settings"-window that one opens from the Options-dialog has to indicate that what a user selects in there are the default values for the Sanitize-dialog. Now both windows look very similar and a user would think that both are the same and have the exact same function.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
