Note I'm on broadband with Connection setting as "Direct connection to internet".
Using Tools>Check for update initializes the "Network Connections" pop up
window, which only lists the DUN connections.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Using Tools>Check for update initializes the "Network Connections" pop up
window, which only lists the DUN connections. Using "Cancel" gives:

**Deer Park was not able to find any available updates

Deer Park encountered problems when trying to find updates for some items**

2. However, using Tools>Options>Advanced>Update gives:
a) For Deer Park as above **Deer Park was not able to find any available
updates** ok no problem, but,
b) Check My Extensions and Themes, and this is when the Network Connections pop
up is called and can only be overcome with cancel.

Actual Results:
As described

Expected Results:
For broadband with Direct connection to internet set, should not call dialup
network connection.

This is a function of your Internet Settings for your computer. It sounds like
your Windows system is not configured properly. I assume that you observe the
same dialog when browsing to any http:// site, right?
I believe this bug is INVALID because update checking is really no different
than any other HTTP page load performed by the browser.

Thanks for the comment, BUT, the PC was configured correctly as it's been
running on cable broadband for a few years! The issue was reproducible at the
time (did not affect Firefox 1.0.x (4 at that date?) or IE, Opera etc)but it is
not occuring now. I'll uninstall Deer Park to see if it is an issue on
installation and first use, otherwise I'll leave this closed.
