Mitchell's blog brings up and interesting point about the search toolbar. I was
trying to figure out what might help users understand when something other than
google is selected.

The best method I could think of was to add some placeholder text to the search
toolbar any time no text is in the bar. The text should be the plugin's title,
should be grey, and should disappear when the caret is in the search toolbar.

This would also be helpful for folks (like me) who have two search plugins with
the same icon (e.g. Google and Google Local).

The only issue this doesn't address is letting users know that the search plugin
is changable. Maybe this is the job for something similar to Bug 258682. Fixing
Bug 227745 might be helpful too.
