User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705) Build Identifier: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird After installing Thunderbird I started it and immediately my antivirus went crazy showing several Trojan virus in different files. After running the antivirus and removing all the viruses I reintalled tghe Windows XP again. After I started the Thunderbird email my antiviruses showed the same viruses present again. Is this something that my antivirus does? I am using the avast! Antivirus? May be it recognizes some Thunderbird files as a virus?! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Strart the computer 2.connect to Internet 3.Start Thunderbird Actual Results: The antivirus came up repeatedly showing a Trojan virus present in various Windows directories. Expected Results: Worked without any such incidents. I can only tink that it may be related to the new version of antivirus software I am using now. It is Avast!, a free version.
I have just triesd to reproduce the result and it worked without fail. Here is the link to the antivirus site: www.avast.com. Here is the location of the Trojan Horse on my system:C:\Documents and Settings\BORIS KOLODNY\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\AVGZSFMR\pics[1].ru, here is the name of the virus; Win32:LowZones-Z [Trj]. The second Trojan Horse is located in: C:\photos.exe, and the name is:Win32:LowZones-Z [Trj]. I thought this may be helpful. After I move the viruses in the chest the program works normal.
Okay, you got a virus after you reinstalled Windows, but why do you think that it's related to Thunderbird? This is not really a bug in the software, it's probably just caused by user error; i.e. downloading an attachment that had a virus in it, etc. INVALID
The directory you specify is an IE temporary files folder and therefore is not related to Thunderbird. It is most likely something you picked up when browsing using IE. Thunderbird cannot do anything to tackle viruses that you pick up through web browsing or downloading emails etc. ->INVALID
