Mozilla trunk build 2005-06-02:
- choose a mail with a image as an attachment
- detach that image
- choose View->Diplay attachments inline
- display above message
==> the broken image image is shown instead of the detached attached image

I can confirm this (mis)behavior still exists in Thunderbird 1.5 for Windows.  If you detach an image from an email and then double-click the icon for that same image in the attachments bar at the bottom of the message, it will correctly open that image.  However, in the message itself that same image will be replaced with the "image not found" icon.  So, it looks like it's correctly storing the path to the image's new location on disk after it's been detached, it's just that the inline attachments display isn't pulling the image from that location.
