So is this a 1.7 branch only problem? If you don't know, please download 
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest-trunk/mozilla-
i686-pc-linux-gnu-gtk2+xft.tar.gz and try if it occours there.

this is noly a 1.7 branch problem.

henry: 1.7 branch is only taking security fixes.  This crash bug is a dupe of
another bug which was fixed on trunk and deemed not appropriate for the 1.7 branch.
