Print Preview +
Print (to printer set to A4 default paper size)
Printer: two types CANON bubblejet, 1 type CANON colour laser
O/S Windows 98Se, Windows XP.
Problem: 1) printer defaults back to letter
2) BEFORE and AFTER setting page back to A4, the file always splits into 2 page.
After the header data, the page splits.
Under IE this does not happen.
Can this bug be fixed?
The print file is available. File + LOGO.
Sorry but just cannot fix this problem and code looks OK, besides not been a
problem in IE5 or 6.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.From a web page, hit web page [PRINT] command
2.new window opens and print page displays correctly.
3. Print Preview or Print and the doc splits into header page 1, body page 2
Actual Results:
uses 2 pieces of paper when one would surfice
Expected Results:
print on 1 A4 page

With the same configuration (Windows XP, User agent/Build identifier:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511
Firefox/1.0.4) and an OKI OKIPAGE 14ex set at A4 paper format, the actual result
on the printer varies a little for the steps given by Keith. These are always
reproducible.
Actual result: The printer signals that paper format 'Letter' is expected. After
pressing 'Recover' on the printer itself, the page is resized within the printer
and prints correctly on A4. Manual pressing is annoying however.
Expected result: I would appreciate if Firefox could read the default paper
format from the selected printer driver and prints A4 automatically.

Can I clarify what you mean by "hit web page [PRINT] command"? Because I'm seeing something that sounds *like* this.
On a PC with everything in sight set for A4 paper. Printing via File -> Print (changing nothing) is formatted for A4 as expected. But printing via a "print" button embedded in the page (calling the javascript "print()") is formatted for letter paper.
Oh, and with the extra twist that once you have printed something via "File->Print", the in-page button starts working properly!
We're finding that the page headers incorrectly appear when we get the wrong paper size, too, so it seems to be affecting ALL printer settings.
Is this what you're seeing? Or should I file a new bug?
