If adding an RSS feed, for example:

http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/search?areaID=50&subAreaID=0&query=sienna&cat=car&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&format=rss
or
http://anchorage.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/search?areaID=51&subAreaID=0&query=sienna&cat=car&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&format=rss

which currently has no entries, but might in the near future, the dialog box
hangs at "Verifying the feed..." even though the RSS feed is valid. For
example, the following feeds will add fine:

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/search?areaID=8&subAreaID=0&query=sienna&cat=car&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&format=rss
http://www.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/search?areaID=1&subAreaID=0&query=sienna&cat=car&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&format=rss

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on a News & Blog account, then "Manage subscriptions"
2. At the "RSS Subscriptions" dialog box click "Add," then copy and paste the
RSS URL into the "Feed URL" box
3. Click the "OK" button

Actual Results:
"RSS Subscriptions" dialog box hangs at "Verifying the feed..."

Expected Results:
"RSS Subscriptions" dialog box should have temporarily indicated "Verifying the
feed..." then "Downloading feed articles..." and added the feed.

Using Mozilla Thunderbird version 1.0.2 (20050317)
WORKSFORME with version 1.0+ (20050608).
I have noticed the same thing. I had to add a fake "welcome to the rss feed"
item that gets generated every time. I think this kludge breaks new rss entries
and it always takes more than the refresh time to refresh. I think thunderbird
gets confused of the ordering of items if it changes.

Resolving WFM, I have no problems subscribing to the feeds. Do reopen if you
still have problems with a recent nightly build.
