Build Identifier: version 1.0.2 (20041206)
whenever Thunderbird encounters two hyphens (--) on a line by themselves, the
remaining text is grayed out. When reading mail from my mailing list, this
happens frequently and I will have to read most of the remaining message
grayed out. Once a message shows that has included text in its reply, the
display becomes normal again.
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
allow user to turn off the option for graying out text after the --

This isn't really a preferences bug, but there isn't really a better category to
put it in.

Given the UE impact I'm going to stipulate that this is more bug then enhancement (not many people have a 10+ line signature), so that either someone can pick it up, morph it, close it, etc. I would think this is also a problem with some top posted messages and not just a problem with messages from mailing lists. (didn't look for dupes)
there is considerable recent discussion in bug 54570 - don't know if it's significant.
