Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4

hiding the browser and then re-showing it brings up a completely blank window.
if i drag another app's window over the Firfox window, or if I use the top right
button to redraw the window, the contents, including toolbars and tabs, are
reconstituted. I tried doing a screen capture of the blank page, but the screen
capture actually sees the page, alhtough I don't.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.hide browser
2.show browser
3.

Actual Results:
blank window appears, then clicking top right button redraws window

Expected Results:
fully redrawn window should appear
duplicate of bug 225057 ?
Hi Chris,
- are you still seeing this bug on a recent build?
- how frequently does the "blank page" bug occur? Every time? Rarely?
- are there any specific conditions to make it occur? specific web pages open,
machine going to sleep, lots of tabs, etc.
- do you have any third-party themes, extensions or ad-blockers with Firefox? If
so, does the problem go away if you disable them?
- what about if you try with a fresh profile? (quit Firefox, temporarily move
the folder <your home directory>/Library/Application Support/Firefox somewhere
safe, and then restart, so it creates a new profile folder)

thanks,

Wayne
Summary: HIde/Show brings up blank page - browser toggle (top right button) redraws window → Hide/Show brings up blank page - browser toggle (top right button) redraws window
Wayne,

Just checking in with another occurrence of this bug. I get it with the
pages within http://www.mathworks.com/ . I've tried restarting the browser
and loading these pages and get the same behaviour, even with just one tab
open.

Thanks,

Chris

OK, it also does this on the bugzilla.mozilla.org website!!!

for an example of what's going on, i've created a movie. Please check it out at:

Thanks,

Chris
Out of interest, does it only occur if you get a bad applet, or a
java.lang.NullPointerException ?
The reason I ask this is because of my comment over on bug 225057 (please see
bug 225057 comment 36 and onwards...). Thanks.
A very good, reproducable example of this behaviour can be found at
http://crisp.cit.nih.gov/

it still occurs even in v1.0.6

Thanks,

Chris
Hi Chris,

I'm pretty sure that last page you reported is because of a broken Java applet
(that little maroon bar that displays autoscrolling text underneath the ERA
Commons title), like what I reported in bug 225057 comment 36.

I couldn't reproduce the bug symptoms using your page, until the Java applet
stopped running. At that point, it stopped scrolling text, and no longer
appeared over the top of other tabs (which is a different bug). Then I could
reproduce the redraw problem.

I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of bug 225057, and we can handle it there.

cheers,

Wayne
