User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050420 Debian/1.7.7-2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050420 Debian/1.7.7-2

As far as I can tell, I only see this problem when on the newscientist.com
website. Whenever I select some text, whether it's multiple lines or not, if the
string contains any combination of single quotes, it simply will not paste into
any other program, though the string will paste fine into any text boxes in
Mozilla. As far as other programs go, whatever was previously in the clipboard
is erased, and nothing new is copied to it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Browse to www.newscientist.com.
2. Select some text with at least one single quote in it.
3. Attempt to paste the text into another program.

Actual Results:
The string allegedly copied to the clipboard will not paste into any other
program except Mozilla.

Expected Results:
The string should be pasted properly into another program instead of leaving the
clipboard blank (as far as other programs can tell).
worksforme with linux trunk 2005060905 and 1.7.7
copy/pasted "whether it's multiple" into gedit without problems

please try a trunk build from .mozilla.org

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we

this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
