User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4

See STR.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn off all webservers running on your computer.
2. Set Firefox to use a proxy (I use Proxomitron, for example).
3. Type "localhost" in the location bar of Firefox and press Enter.
4. The proxy will respond that the connection failed.
5. Firefox guesses that the user may have meant www.localhost.com and tries that.
6. The proxy reports that this fails too.
7. Now you realise that you have your local webserver turned off, so you turn it
on and hit reload.
Actual Results:
Firefox re-attempts to access www.localhost.com.

Expected Results:
Firefox should re-attempt to access localhost.
Oh, sorry -- silly me. The STR are wrong in that I have set Firefox to not use
the proxy for localhost. So it will use the proxy only for the guessed domain
www.localhost.com.

Uuuhhmm.... I'm trying to hard to figure this one out. Why would it be invalid?
Maybe you just didn't understand the bugreport?
I have no idea, it was a question.
I assumed you fixed it

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
