User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 This can be reproduced easily. If more than one Firefox browser window is opened and only one of them has ever had multiple tabs opened, go to the multiple tabbed window select the red X in the upper right hand of the window to close which brings up the dialog box asking if you want to close the multiple tabs. If you select cancel the window will still close. I forget if the behavior is when this is the only remaining Firefox window or not. Sorry, it's been a long day. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open multiple Firefox windows but only one may have multiple tabs 2.Select the red X in the upper right hand of the window to close Firefox. 3.select cancel from the dialog box asking if you want to close the multiple tabs. Actual Results: The Firefox window will still close. Expected Results: The Firefox window should remain open.

UPDATE: It appears this does happen only when the tabbed browser is the last window open. It also seems it ONLY occurs if the tabbed window was originally opened with multiple tabs automatically on launch. Not after opening multiple tabs manually. Might be caused by one of several tab related extensions I have loaded. I'll test with a clean install one of these days soon.

(In reply to comment #1) > Might be caused by one of several tab related extensions I have loaded. I'll > test with a clean install one of these days soon. You need to do this before you report a bug. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050610 Firefox/1.0+ ID:2005061019 Tried this two ways: - Open two windows, one with tabs one without. Close the window without tabs. It closes. - Open two windows, one with tabs one without. Close the windows with tabs. It asks if you want to close the window with multiple tabs. I clicked cancel; it didn't close it. I'm just wondering why you say "red X". It's a black X for me. WFM.

One last update tonight. It seems to happen even if it is the only Firefox Window opened if it automatically opens with multiple tabs. This might explain from Adam Guthrie (comment #2)does not see the same behavior. Unless of course it is related to an extension. Sorry I have not doen more testing. Just trying to help. I thought folks might want to be aware of a possible issue that might cause them to lose data that they may have spent time composing and entering. I know I would.

I thought folks might > want to be aware of a possible issue that might cause them to lose data that > they may have spent time composing and entering. I know I would. That's good, but this is not the place to report issues with extensions. Those need to be taken up with the developer of the extension. So, since this does not occur with the default Firefox, I suggest you mark it as INVALID.
