RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 212318

People

(Reporter: mozilla-bugzilla, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050517 Firefox/1.0.4 (Debian package 1.0.4-2)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050517 Firefox/1.0.4 (Debian package 1.0.4-2)

The proxy configuration window allows for exlusion of hosts or "globs" of hosts:
"No Proxy for:"

However, in my situation, sitting outside of the office, with a SSH-tunnel to a
proxy inside the office, I'd like to specify _which_ hosts whose requests should
go to the proxy, while all others should go with direct connection. (This
obviously both to get access to the companyinternal httpservers, but also so
that my ip in certain situations seems to come from the office gw.)

Thus, an "only proxy for" option would be great.

(An even better system would maybe be to be able to define a bunch of (named)
proxy configurations, and then "apply"/attach these configurations to different
hosts.)

Might be related to bug #133903 - at least the summary is pretty much what I'm
looking for, but the rest of the description and comments aren't quite..!
Duplicate of/related to Core bug 135198 and Core bug 212318 ?
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Re the auto-resolve: There are at least three feature requests that describe the
eaxct same feature, but with some different suggestions of how to best solve it.
Two of them can probably be duped, by taking the different suggestions to one
bug. (E.g. this' idea of the advanced "named proxy configurations" and "apply to")

This bug #297480

I'd _really_ appreciate this feature - it affects me _every_ day!
