On Linux Deer Park, when the GTK2 tab close box is hovered, a light grey rectangle appears. This is ugly and was not present in Firefox 1.0. This only occurs on Linux. I don't know when this regressed. If anyone reading this knows who works on the theme issues on Linux, I would appreciate if you could CC them. This in my opinion needs to be fixed for the release.
Here's a screenshot of the hover in Gnome in Fedora Core 4.
