297560 - ALL bookmarks are gone (300) after "new, improved" version installed itself

a few days ago, Mozilla / firefox page changed to different layout ..all
bookmarks were gone, it was as if i had installed it new?? i used the restore
program , but it made no change in bookmarks.... 

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1.why would i try .. it is a major disaster to me!!!

Expected Results:  
for damn sure , if a "new improved " version appears it should not dump all the
bookmarks!!
