I create alot of filters to segregate my mail. I create a filter to move
(typical) a message from a sender based on email address. When Thunderbird is
shutdown, or more likly crashes, the filter is gone.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create filter
2. Filter is at top of filter list.
3. Shut down Tbird, filter disapeared fron filter list
Maybe related to bug 277189?

This has happened on Windows XP Pro for the last two version of thunderbird
and also happens on Fedora Core 3 (Tbird version 1.0.2).
Getting very frustrating.
This problem continues even after upgrading to Thunderbird 1.06. Could someone
please look into this????
I have seen this behavior on three different machines, All using different
profiles.
Each time I lauch Thunderbird I find the last created filters missing. I
recreate the filters with the same name as before.
Version: unspecified → 1.0

Workaround is probably opening "Tools/Message Filters" after creation of filter
and before termination of Thunderbird.
Is it be effective?
AFAK, this problem is already resolved by opening "Tools/Message Filter" window
automatically after filter creation.
(Sorry but I don't know which bug has fixed.)
Does the problem still occur with newest thunderbird/nightly/latest-trunk build?

This still happens in Thunderbird version 1.0.2 (20050317).
I currently prevent this by opening Tools/Message Filters after creating a filter
and mving the new filter(s) down below the 1st one that was there from previous
session.
In earlier versions of Thunderbird just opening Tools/Message Filters was not
sufficient.
I have not retried this in current version (in case I lose the filter!).
I don't have time / expertise to try latest trunk builds.

the 1.0x releases contain almost exclusively security fixes - this bug is fixed
in trunk builds and the fix will be available in the next major version of
thunderbird.
