If I use the autocreate filter from message option, the filter does not persist
across restarts. However, if I create a new filter by hand from the filter
window, it seems to work fine. The autocreate filter does work after I create
it; it just disappears when I restart the program.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Autocreate new filter
2. Close and restart thunderbird
3. Filter should be gone

Actual Results:
The filter dissappears.

Expected Results:
The filter should have persisted.

I had never noticed this on the windows version... however, admitedly, I'm not
sure if I autocreated a filter in the newest version of Thunderbird in Windows.

also happening to me under Windows XP, using Thunderbird 1.02 (I have just
uograded to 1.05 today)
Agreed on the dupe. As noted there, there's been a hack put in for 1.5 that prevents the worst of this problem by popping up the Message Filters window after the filter creation dialog is closed; when you close that window, the new filter is stored to disk.
