User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 A new appointment is default marked as "private". This is extremely annoying when you want to have all (new) appointments "public" (non-private) by default. The context of this option-request is when you use the Calendar in a company where everyone has his/her own agenda published, and overview software honoring this flag, which can accidently result in loads of "private" appointments, whereas all should be marked "public". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. just make a new appointment. Expected Results: The "General" preferences could have an option for "mark private by default" or "mark public by default".
Erik, Thanks for the bug report. Can you please take a look at bug 215975? It doesn't quite ask for exactly the same thing that you're requesting, but I'm wondering whether you feel it would be sufficient to cover your needs. In essence, bug 215975 makes the 'Private' checkbox in the New Event window the preference, since it would be remembered, and easily toggled. If you feel bug 215975 would cover your request, please resolve this as a duplicate of that bug.
This bug is a duplicate of 215975, as it has to do with the same "private" checkbox. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 215975 ***
