I saw the flashgot program and wanted to get it so i can make my downloads a
little faster but then after i installed it, i restarted my browser and nothing
was there. So i tried installing Ad-block and the same thing keeps happening.
(Note: I did have Ad-block installed when i was using firefox 1.03 but then
decided there was really no real purpose for it so i unistalled it and now i
cant get anything and i have tried reinstalling firefox)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to the extensions page for firefox
2.try to install any extension

Actual Results:
After i "supposedly" installed the extensions they wouldnt work and didnt show
up in the extension page of tools

Expected Results:
The software should have installed the extensions and worked properly

I was having trouble with java before i noticed that i couldnt install any
extensions. So i reinstalled java and it didnt work at first so i went into
Java's FAQ page and found steps to fix the problem where you go into Java
through the controle panel and then go to the ADVANCED tab. From there click
tag support and i noticed that the firefox box was not checked (only internet
explorere was checked)so i checked the box and hit apply. But then a window
came up telling me that mozilla wasnt properly installed or that i dont have the
permission to change the system settings, which is impossible because i am the
only account on windows xp. Well i decided to sleep on it and once i booted up
my computer the next day java was working even though the box was still
unchecked and the warning came up every time i tried applying it. Hope this
helps thank you
Uninstalling the app does not remove the profile which is more than likely where
this problem resides. To get help on how to create a new profile and the other
items you mention I suggest visiting the forums at:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/#forums

There is also additional support information at:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/

For example, there is a configuration setting for controlling whether or not
extensions can be installed and how to configure this setting can be answered in
the support forums.
Ben, does a new profile fix this for you?
