Did the update to 1.0.4 and now some extensions I tried out and have chosen to
delete won't go away and my 'image show/hide' is really messing up the view of 
webpages. 

Some extensions that won't go away are...
Yahoo tool bar 0.5b
Yahoo companion 0.5.4.20041020
Context search 0.2
FireMule 0.2.1
Movies and Music Search 1.41
SmartSearch 2.4
Smooth wheel 0.44.5.20050523

All of these extensions show that 'they will be removed when mozilla is
restarted' but that is not the case.

Images don't show up on most webpages.  It's almost like it's a selective
process...I get some color backgrounds of some webpages but no pictures.  I do
have the "hide/show image" extension installed, although, in the toolbar options
there is not button to drag and drop to the tool bar.  It's like the images have
been turned off but there's no button or setting to turn them back on again.  I
can get the images with the 'rt-click - view image'.

HELP>>>???
I have uninstalled and reinstalled 1.0.4 and this did not help.

This isn't a big problem, except it's driving me nuts because I don't get any
pictures on webpages.  It can be confusing when on a lot of pages the buttons
are connected to little words in a corner. Words you can't find but there is
suppose to be a big pretty button.

Uninstalling the app does not remove the profile which is more than likely where
this problem resides. To get help on how to create a new profile and the other
items you mention I suggest visiting the forums at:

A new profile fixed the problem yes.  I've determined that when Milewideback and
Forcastfox are installed at the same time then milewideback doesnt work.  Now
after uninstalling the Forcastfox milewideback is working.  Also tabbrowser
preferences aren't working totally.  The hover over tab to change tab doesn't
work.  To be honest, I wish I had taken the time to understand programming.  I
love this project but have absolutely no idea how to help resolves these litte
annoyances.  Thanks for your efforts.

Chances are that this is an issue with one of the extensions and it would appear
that you have narrowed it down some. Issues with an extension need to be
reported to their author so they can fix their extension whether it is an
incompatibility with another extension or a feature of an extension not
working... so, this bug is invalid.
