User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050512 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050512 Firefox/1.0.4 After logging into Gmail, I get this sequence of events: 1) Browser shows the text "Loading..." in black in the upper left. 2) Firefox pops up a dialog titled "Alert" that says "The file /gmail/html/loading.html cannot be found. Please check the location and try again." The dialog has an "OK" button, which I click. 3) The "Loading..." text disappears and a red rectangle appears in the upper right corner of the browser, then disappears. 4) I get the same "Alert" dialog again with the same text and I click OK. This happens four times in series. 5) I get a blank white screen in the browser. Nothing crashes or negatively affects Firefox itself in any way. It just refuses to load the page. I saw this problem with 1.0, it went away with 1.0.1, and is back with 1.0.4. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Basically just go to gmail.com and log in.

Yeah, I should point out that it only fails for me under Solaris. Works fine under Windows and MacOS. Haven't tried any other Unices lately. Specifically, I'm using the contributed build at <ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0.4/contrib/firefox1.0.4-sparc-sun-solaris2.8.tar.bz2>. I find it hard to believe that it could be a compile error, though.

Damn. I just installed the Translate extension, restarted, and now Gmail works. And I'd restarted it before, albeit without installing a new extension. I have no explanation.
