Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050522 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050522 Firefox/1.0.4 If the system crashes while Firefox is running, the ./lock file from the directory of the profile that was being used does not get deleted. As a result, unless the user manually deletes the file they will not be able to use that profile. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox with whatever profile you want to test. 2. Abruptly cut your system, either by inducing a crash, pulling the plug, or holding the power button for a few seconds. 3. Restart the machine. You will not be able to use that profile unless you remove the lock file from the profile's directory. Actual Results: The program refused to use that profile saying it was 'in use', despite acknowledging in the xterm that there were no windows running. Expected Results: Before selecting a profile (or going to the default), Firefox should check to see if any instances of the program are actually running and if so what profiles they are using.
Also, firefox should provide the ability on the profile screen to remove a lock file for that profile and use it anyway. This should perhaps be on the error screen indicating that profile is in use.
