User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050617 Firefox/1.0+

it appears that after the second launch of deer park, the software update window
is launched, and is not functional (it has a progress bar that does not move),
and it has no close button (and is not closable via cmd-w, nor the cancel
button). it will continually spawn this window after each launch, irregardless
of profile (new/old) or preferences.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Deer Park
2. Close Deer Park
3. Open Deer Park again

Actual Results:
The software update window appears, non-functional and without a way to close it.

Expected Results:
The software update window should abide by your prefs set, and should be able to
be closed/cancelled.

i believe this may only be theme triggered. i can install an extension (foxylicious - pretty much the only
one i use) and restart and every thing is ok, however, when i go to install a theme (grapple's wonderful
"brazil") and use it and restart - the update window opens and i am now unable to close deerpark, let
alone the update window. i used to be able to hide the window, and then close deerpark later.
Can you please test with a newer nightly build?

Much has changed in the software update world, and this bug may very well be
fixed. If so, then please resolve this bug WORKSFORME. Thanks!
window is closable now, still non-functional.

it appears to spawn when themes are installed (doesn't seem to bother with
extensions), even if you have the pref unchecked for the checking of
themes/extensions.
this does indeed workforme :)
