I can't find the parameter that controls the polling interval
for new mail, NOR IS THE TOPIC TO BE FOUND IN HELP!
At least I want to know the current setting.
It's NOT in the preferences.

Thank you for a wrong answer: it should be : EDIT->Account settings ...
and I wouldn't have bothered you if it was to be found in the HELP.

you filed a bug on Thunderbird. In Thunderbird, it is tools | account settings |
server settings.

If you're running Mozilla, it is in Mozilla help, under pop3 server settings.
I'm running Thunderbird 1.0, in which THERE IS NO TOOLS->ACCOUNT SETTINGS.

And in this version, help only gives me a web page.
Comes in handy when connection is the problem .....
