i opened mozilla and was given a window saying that i could not run mozilla as
the default user because it was already running. It required that i creat a new
user account. I did this and now my bookmarks are gone. I cannot find out how
to change back to the default user settings

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.I put the computer in standby mode
2.I clicked on the mozilla shortcut on my desktop
3.

Actual Results:
A window saying that i could not run mozilla as default user because it was
already running and that i had to create a new account to use mozilla

Expected Results:
Should have opened and left my personal settings, including bookmarks, alone
Go here Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox and
you can find two profiles directory.

In the older one, you should find your bookmarks, well I hope so.
Summary: lost bookmarks → lost bookmarks
Simply copy your bookmarks from the old profile.
should be stored in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
Data\Mozilla\
you created a new profile because you had a firefox running in the background
(lockfile present in the profile).
It's not surprising that you can't see your old bookmarks because the profile
conatins all user data but they are not gone.

Just kill the running Firefox process in the background and/or reboot and you
should be able to open your old profile again. (if not run "firefox
-profilemanager" for switching to the old profile).

-> invalid (Please reopen if you can reproduce such a hanging FF process in the
background without installed extensions/Firefox safemode)

Please ask enduser questions in the future for example in the mozillazine.org
Forums,the newsgroups or on IRC
