when trying to log into hotmail the username and password are entered, the box ticked to remember user and password, upon click the site is located but then returns directly to empty sign in

In firefox enter www.hotmail.com, the sign in appears as normal, upon filling in
username and password, tick box to remember both, click sign in, the site is
found and shows in the bottom left of screen. Before reaching hotmail the page
reverts to the sign in page and all information has gone, no matter how many
times it is entered the sign in just re appears. I am still able to access
hotmail via Internet Explorer so it is not wrong user or PW.

2.insert user and password
3.click sign in
Actual Results:  
reverts to empty sign in box

Expected Results:  
taken me into hotmail messages
