Using MozillaThunderbird-1.0.99-0.1 (SUSE RPM built, projects/experimental), I
suddenly got a nice dialog telling me

  "Message Compose
An error occured while creating a message compose window.
   Please try again.
   [Ok]"

This seems to be related to bug 162640 (closed as fixed) and 176505 (closed as
fixed). These are rather old bugs, though the last comment to the former
indicates that others have problems too. This seems to be related to pref.js,
but I cannot find the problem there. (Re-installing the RPM didn't help.)

Any quick idea how to find the problem there or reduce the size of that file
(799 lines) to make it more chewable is welcome. If needed be I can attach that
file, but I need to look first, whether there is something in which I shouldn't
attach.
Try the weekly/nightly build. I don't think the latest alpha has incorporated
the fix yet. 1.6a1 works for me. 1.1a2 gives me the same error message.
Close as Works For Me as I don't have any problem anymore. (Don't know how I worked around the problem; I think I moved to a new profile.)
