Please display the count of different users too. This shows the user, how many different persons are participating in the news group. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
your best bet would be to try to find someone to write an extension to do this. I don't think we'd make it part of the core product.

This is so easy, this should be in the core product. You must count unread messages already. Why not count users too? Use a simple hashlist to add users from every message. Existent users will be overwritten, then count the hashtable entries and show the count after the count of unread messages. This should be not a big problem but very usefull.

This shows the user the measure of how many different users use the news group! It shows either the group is used by many different users (>50%) or it is a group of a smal group of addicted users.
