Details

User-Agent: Opera/7.54 (Windows NT 5.1; U) [en]
Build Identifier:

I need to use Save Link As... in the contextual menu to download files.

Fast back (and forward) is on by setting my browser.sessionhistory.max_viewers
preference to 2.

If I directly click on the executable file to be downloaded (for example :

I obtain from now an error message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on the file (for example :
2.The error occurs

Actual Results:
I obtain from now the following error message:

"Downloading c:\docume~1\locals~1\temp\i2c12ssa.exe

Downloading c:\docume~1\locals~1\temp\i2c12ssa.exe could not be saved, because
the source file could not be read

Try again later, or ... "

Expected Results:
The download begins from the site and not from the cache.

I've seen this too, but only after FF has crashed earlier (no talkback).

I can reproduce this by:

- Try to open one of our internal webpages (-> cpu 100%, FF not responding,
close FF)
- open FF, notice something wrong with extensions (for example Forecastfox
doesn't show it's icons, can't save any extension setting etc.)

- try to download something -> "source file could not be read"

how to fix:

close ff, remove extensions-startup.manifest file from profile dir, start ff
again. Download any file you want.

This has started atleast from 6-23 nightly deerpark.

Note that I'm using download statusbar which may also be "broken" after the
crash and causing the error?
