The style settings "border-style: ridge" do not seem to work when a page is
printed. The border does not print as is seen on screen, it prints like a thin
normal border. This same setting is seen and printed fine on 4.72.

I think this is a bug with the Medium settings.. the number of twips calculated
is much to small for the printer.. this must have something to do with the
canonical printer scale between device contexts.. I don't think the routine that
is responible for calculating the medium value is using the Canonical scale to
get the correct scale for a possible mapping deviceContext.

There is a big difference between the thickness of the border when rendering to
screen (22 and 23 TWIPS) and printer (3 and 4 TWIPS) so I am guessing we are
missing an important device-specific scaling operation, like Don suggested. I am
quite sure it is not limited to 'medium' widths, too, but I'll test that
assumption.

this happens only to ordinary blocks if you print the testcase from bug 10140
you will see the thin border around the caption and the thick correct border
around the table.

This doesn't seem to be reproduceable any more, at least on unix/linux. Both
test cases produce printouts with reasonable-looking borders. I'm going to
resolve this bug.

On reviewing the bug activity log, I see this was originally tagged as occurring
on windows. OS/Platform was changed to "all" in comment #11, where Anne claims
she coudldn't reproduce the problem but doesn't mention the platform being used.
This doesn't make sense; if she couldn't reproduce the problem, how does she
know what platforms it occurs on?

As I noted before, I can't reproduce this problem on unix. I'm setting the
platform back to Windows 2000 per the previous comment.

He couldn't reproduce the problem*

Sorry about changing 'Hardware' and 'OS', won't happen again.
