User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050531 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050531 Firefox/1.0+ When I start up DPa1, there is the little green update arrow that appears. The throbber isn't running yet. In FF 1.0.x, the green arrow always went away after a short time. When I go to the first webpage (either by bookmark, or typing in the URL), the throbber starts twirling, and doesn't ever stop. The green arrow is still present. When I click on the green arrow, it goes through its dramatics, and tells me no updates are available. Ok, so the green arrow stays there instead of going away. The throbber still runs, and it insists on the status bar that "xxxx.com is transferring data". It's not webpage-specific, and happens anywhere from The Extensions Mirror, to MozillaZine, to Fox News. It's kind of annoying since it makes me think that the pages are still loading, but even when in multiple tabs, you know the pages aren't loading, because the individual page's throbbers aren't throbbing... This doesn't happen all the time, but I'd say more 90% of the time. A few browser restarts and a little luck fixes it. My extensions are: ForecastFox .8 Adblock + All-in-one-gestures menu editor BugMeNot Image Toolbar TabX QuickNote Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start up Deer Park Alpha 1 2. Go to any website by bookmark or manual typing in (or even outside application's link) Actual Results: The green arrow shows up, doesn't go away. Once a page has the throbber started, it doesn't stop. Expected Results: Checked for extension updates and software updates at startup, throbbed its little heart out, then disappear!

Using WinXP, I see no green update icon anymore in trunk, and the only page that loads forever (after a browser restart and not clearing the cache), is http://www.mozilla.org/projects/deerpark/ Maybe you're talking about Bug #297945 ?

Correction: can't be bug #297945. Was not yet present in builds before 14 June.

Hey, forgot about this bug -- it's been worked out in the latest nightlies for a while. Don't know whether to mark invalid, wfm or fixed, so I'll just invalid it. That'll be the safest bet, I suppose.
