Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050529 Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/ When I try to install the latest Mozilla build from 6/19 forward, it goes through the installation in a seemingly OK manner. However, it will not automatically start Mozilla after the installation is complete. Clicking on the short cut or the Open file anywhere on my system will not start Mozilla either. I've had to go back in and reinstall the build dated 5/29/05 in order to start Mozilla at all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Download latest build of Mozilla dated after 5/29/05. 2.Start installation. 3.Complete installation. 4.Click on shortcut or program start key. 5.Nothing happens Expected Results: It should have started Mozilla and gone to the Mozilla start or home page.

It is not resolved. It just did the same thing when I tried to install the latest 6/26 build. The only thing different is that the Mozilla open block came up. But it did not start Mozilla. It was not visible in my Win XP 2 open Applications.

File: mozilla-win32-installer.exe 12061 KB 6/26/2005 1:37:00 PM File: mozilla-win32-stub-installer.exe 232 KB 6/26/2005 1:37:00 PM I just grabbed both of those files and did 2 separate installations from ftp://216.165.129.134/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly, all went fine for me under Windows XP Service Pack 2. One more independant confirmation from someone else would be nice, too.

I just tested this again on CTho's system via a VNC client, and both the full and stub installers dated 6/26 worked just fine; after installing, mozilla.exe launched and displayed his homepage. Bill, you're absolutely sure you're using the 6/26 installer? I ask because it took me forever to get the ftp.mozilla.org servers to give me anything past 6/23, due to them not being rsync'd properly lately.

Bill just filed bug 298925, which means his installer is working fine. Verified.
