User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513 Galeon/1.3.21 (Debian package 1.3.21-1+gnome28+1) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513 Galeon/1.3.21 (Debian package 1.3.21-1+gnome28+1) (Only using Galeon to file report) I installed FlashGot from addons.mozilla.org and everything appeared to proceed smoothly. I was running Mozilla Web Browser (i.e. not Firefox) at the time, and I chose to add it to my profile, rather than have to reinstall it whenever Mozilla is updated. Unfortunately Mozilla Web Browser hasn't worked since! It begins to launch and "Starting Mozilla Web Browser" appears in my Gnome Panel but then nothing.... Switching to console and running 'top' shows me that mozilla-bin is still running but on the other hand mozilla-suite is not listed, i.e., is not running, and must have quit as this is the first binary file launched. I don't know if /usr/bin/mozilla-suite is supposed to quit or not :-/ The following lines from my ~/.mozilla/default/...slt/install.log file may be of interest: ** ERROR (-202): Installing: /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref/flashgot.js ** Adding defaults/preferences/flashgot.js in /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref/: exit code = -202 ** Adding defaults/preferences/flashgot.js in /home/sebyte/.mozilla/default/1zbov9rq.slt/pref/: exit code = 0 ** ERROR (-202): Installing: /usr/lib/mozilla/.autoreg ... although it does say; "Install completed successfully -- 2005-06-26 21:53:10" at the end. Note: Firefox and Galeon both still work perfectly well so I guess the problem is with my 'profile'. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install flashgot, from addons.mozilla.org, in user 'profile' (not system-wide) 2. Quit and try to re-launch Mozilla Web Browser (/usr/bin/mozilla-suite). 3. (Sorry this isn't much help is it? :-/) Actual Results: Mozilla Web Browser (/usr/bin/mozilla-suite) will not launch properly. It begins to launch with considerble disk activity and then nothing... Running top on the console shows that mozilla-bin is still running. mozilla-suite has quit (but maybe it is supposed to :-/) Expected Results: FlashGot should integrate download manager functionality, by providing additional File menu entries.

I don't know if it is something that needs to be fixed, since probably the Seamonkey addons support will never be full-cooked, there's Firefox for that. I'll confirm the bug leaving to someone with more SeaMonkey knowledge to mark it as wontfix or invalid or whatever.

Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Mozilla Web Browser (SearMonkey?) will not launch since (successfully!) installing flashgot from addons.mozilla.org → Seamonkey will not launch after (successfully!) installing flashgot from addons.mozilla.org

Please report this to the flashgot developer. Components should work ok from the profile directory. But if the install script does not work properly, it's entirely possible for it to prevent Mozilla from working. resovling INVALID
