I usually use Internet Explorer 6.0 because I have a free Flash Blocker for it, but not for Firefox. Flash is almost always used for advertising, and is very annoying. Any advertiser who uses it will NOT get my business - it is worse than SPAM. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to www.macromedia.com. 2. 3. Actual Results: I see Macromedia Flash ads. Expected Results: I should not see Macromedia Flash ads. If I want to see a Flash presentation, I will turn it on.

You can use the FlashBlock extension, available at http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=45 , to do this. Bug 229196 is about implementing this in Firefox. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 229196 ***
