Reproducible: Always
Note : bugzilla.mozilla.org doesn't provide support for users. This place is used to file bugs in the software, and I don't see what the error is here. You just have a part of your harddisk that is corrupt, and some Thunderbird files are damaged. It could also have been another application. About your problem : I think that you need to uninstall Thunderbird, run chkdsk, and then install Thunderbird again. Your email will be safe, it's stored in the profile, which is separate from the actual application. On the other hand, you also report a problem in the localstore.rdf file (which you can safely delete - it will be recreated), which is also stored in the profile. So I'm not sure if all your email is safe, it's possible that part of the mailbox is also damaged. More info : <http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/profile>
Comment #1 is correct. Original reporter never provided more details, and it has been 2 years. I can't see any reason why this bug is still open.
