User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Mozilla 1.7.8 browser and Firefox 1.0.4 hang frequently and repeatedly while scrolling, clicking on controls, and/or doing just about anything under Windows XP with SP2. When cursor is placed on browswer screen, it may be replaced by the hourglass or by a symbol that resembles a text-entry cursor. After the first time the browser has hung, the relevant Mozilla and Firefox emblems may disappear from and reappear on the Windows toolbar. Problem seems to resemble UNCONFIRMED Bug Report 288190, but may be more severe - so severe as to render the browser unusable. Additional notes: 1) System is connected to WWW through another server via a peer-to-peer connection, though this should not be relevant because problem occurs ever when running browser offline. 2) Problem seems to get worse when multiple copies of browswer are running, but I cannot verify this. 3) Problem remains even if all other apps are shut down. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Invoke Firefox or Mozilla 2. Try to do anything. At all. 3. Swear, curse, search the forums for a solution, etc. Actual Results: Browser hangs. If cursor is placed in browser, it changes to a symbol that resembles a text-entry symbol. When the broswer is hanging, the Mozilla and/or Firefox emblems disappear and reappear from the Windows toolbar in what appears to be a random fashion. They may or may not reappear when browser starts running again. Expected Results: Worked No themes, no extensions, just plain vanilla versions of Mozilla and Firefox

Paul didn't close his bug... WFM per his report 7/07 "it was rare, and it might have been connected with a number of OS and IT security issues that are only relevant to this particular site, and which I may no longer be able to reproduce, so I'd recommend closing that bug report."
