Messages from our SD4 servers have wrong date: it is always 1970-01-01 01:00 and
the header of the message (according to netscape and mozilla mail client both
pop3 and imap)
includes: Date: 17171-01-22 00:42. Other clients interpret correctly the date
(pine, MS Exchange).

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Display correct date of arrival
Pretty sure this is a DUP of bug 209501, but there might be another cause.
> includes: Date: 17171-01-22 00:42

what? Surely that's not a valid date? What about an offset from GMT (time
zone)? Can you attach a message that has this problem?

I'm guessing you're seeing bug 73565.
Bug 73565 is for no Date: header case.
For malformed Date: header case, see Bug 32216.

Who can interprete "17171" as year of 2005 in Gregorian Calendar? :-)
Magic by MS's mailer is ;
  - display date/time in last valid "Received: header"
  - display current date/time of PC, if no valid "Received: header"
