Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4

I usually minimize Firefox on my Windows XP machine. When I click on a URL in
another application (Outlook), the URL is sent to Firefox and:

1. the latest Firefox window restores to its regular size
2. a new Firefox window is created (according to "Open Links" option)
3. the URL is displayed in the new window

I would like to see #1 go away.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set "Open links from another application" to a "new window".
2. Send Firefox a URL from another application.
Actual Results:
1. Latest Firefox window restores to original size.
2. A new Firefox window is created for the URL.
3. The webpage for the URL is displayed in the new window.

Expected Results:
1. A new Firefox window is created of a size and position matching where the
last Firefox window would display if it was restored.
2. The webpage for the URL is displayed in the new window.

The restore of the previous Firefox window means that I have to close two
windows to get back to my original application rather than one.
WFM. When I have one minimized window open, and I open a link of an external
application in a new window of Firefox, I have one minimized and one maximized
window.

Works for me too. Are you sure that you're actually minimizing the Firefox
window and not just switching to your mail application making it appear that the
window is minimized?
Absolutely -- just rechecked.

Is there anything more I could check to provide more information?
